Our Team
Over the River Theatre Company is the brainchild of husband and wife team Michael and Diana Schottle. They combined their individual strengths and talents to create a community theatre in Leland, North Carolina accessible to everyone who wants to be a part of the first and only theatre company in northern Brunswick County, North Carolina.
Michael Schottle - President & Executive Director
Michael, originally from the Chicago area, has moved around a little throughout his life, to northern Illinois to Milwaukee, where he founded Root River Theatre Company, to New Hampshire, then finally to North Carolina. Despite all that moving, one thing has never changed, his love of theatre. Michael has always been very active in community theatre, both on stage and off. He loves to be on stage performing, but recently, he found his true calling, directing. After recently moving to North Carolina, his latest success is as a founding member of Over the River Theatre Company.
Diana Schottle - Vice President & Treasurer
Diana brings a true love of theatre to the group having done her fair share of acting and being on stage. Diana's strength, though, is in business. She was formally an owner of a very successful residential and office cleaning company. Running a business not only gave her the financial skills, but she brings a real common sense approach to our company and its productions. She also has a meticulous eye for detail and has brought this trait to her work on the stage showing off her talents a set designer and dresser. Diana doesn't plan on stopping there, though. We may see a director credit next to her name in the near future.
